The Junior Panthers create a guitar-driven wall of sound with raucous
riffs and subversive lyrics. The San Francisco quartet has its
roots in shoegaze punk and power pop, and can hang with the best of
them. Their self-titled debut combines original hooks with influences
ranging from beach-y California pop, Stones-influenced rock, hints of
Bacharach, Jellyfish, and Creation Records bands such as Ride, Primal
Scream, and The Jesus and Mary Chain. However, The Junior Panthers
like to shake it up with their own style of dirty vintage guitar
licks, driving rhythms, and melodies that'll give you a toothache.
The Junior Panthers have toured extensively and have shared the
stage with The Pattern, The Soledad Brothers, Mates of State, The
Stratford 4, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and Mark Gardener (of Ride).
